Replace Gas Fire with Woodburner in North Petherton
This project involved a fireplace renovation and woodburner installation in North Petherton. We arranged for the existing gas fire to be disconnected before removing the brick surround then excavating and enlarging the recess to fit a MI Flues Tinderbox woodburner. We allowed plenty of width for sufficient airflow around the stove.
Once the recess had been enlarged we could then installed a 25mm thick Brazilian slate hearth, which was cut to fit at the customer’s property. We rendered the inside of the recess with sand and cement and painted black as requested by the customer before installation of the woodburner.
The wood mantel could stay as outside minimum distances to combustibles. A HETAS woodburner installer will install a woodburner to the specifications within the manual and building regulations.
The MI Flues Tinderbox is a large 5kW woodburner which is SIA and Defra approved. It’s an attractive stove 490mm wide by 590mm in height, with a curved door and large glass and comes with a lifetime warranty on the body of the stove.
