How much does it cost to renovate a fireplace?
We provide all of the services involved and DO NOT outsource to third party builders, which is common in this trade. Therefore, the project is usually completed within a day with minimum fuss and hassle to the customer.
Below is typical list of processes involved during a fireplace renovation and generally costs £2000 when using a flexible liner but excludes cost of stove.
Are fireplace hearths expensive?
Fireplace hearths vary greatly in price depending on materials sourced. Slate or tiles can be cheaper compared to bespoke cut granite, stone or marble materials. We often install slate hearths due to its classic traditional look, hardwearing properties and ease of cutting on site.
Can I add an oak mantel/beam?
New HETAS regulations state that an Oak mantel should be installed at least 700mm from the top of the woodburner to the bottom of the Oak mantel. A heat shield can be added to base of Oak mantel to reduce distances, although it can be unsightly in some conditions. Oak mantels can split and twist as they dry out and so we offer ceramic oak effect mantels to avoid these future issues and comply with HETAS regulations. Ceramic oak effect mantels are realistic, none combustible and available in a wide range styles.
Should I Replace My Gas Stove?
We often replace gas stoves with woodburners, but make sure it is the correct option for you. The Energy Saving Trust states there’s a 10% saving when purchasing a wood burner and woodburning stoves are one-third the cost of electric heating. However, gas can be much more convenient for some customers due to storing logs and ease of use.
