Reinstallation of 8kW woodburner in Stogumber
Insurance companies often request a HETAS certificate for woodburners installed. Keep this in mind before installing a wood burner yourself as a HETAS engineer cannot sign off your work and would have to reinstall it.
This is a reinstallation of a Villager 8kw wood burner. It needed additional ventilation in the property to satisfy HETAS requirements as it was over 5KW.
The property was built in 1820 and the walls were solid stone, so adding a wall vent wasn’t a straightforward option. Therefore, we added a discreet floor vent as the wooden floor was suspended and was ventilated by a external vent outside the property.
