Installation of ACR Tenbury T400 inset woodburner in North Curry, near Taunton.
If I could install only one inset (cassette) woodburner, then it would be the ACR Tenbury T400.
This 5kW contemporary inset stove looks amazing and was designed by a woodburner installer, which makes the installation straight forward
We initially resized and enlarged the recess slightly to contain the outer stove box.
The outer stove box separates from the internal combustion chamber making for lighter installation work. Once the outer box is installed then the internal chamber easily slots in. The chimney liner pulls down inside the stove and allows for simple fitting of the flue adaptor and angled spigot from inside the stove.
There’s few other 5kW inset stoves, which provide this level of simplicity.
Space is usually tight within the recess to fit an inset and most inset stoves require a 6” liner with little flexibility. Thankfully, the ACR Tenbury T400 can use a 5” liner as Defra Approved, which allows greater flexibility of the liner and requires less space.
We used a 300mm slate hearth as required for most inset stoves in front of the door. You may wish to increase the size of the heath if installed higher up the wall. There is four sided frame option available for this purpose.
