Fireplace Renovation and Installation of Woodburner in Quantoxhead
This project involved removing an old Stovax 7 inset Woodburning and wooden fire surround then enlarging fireplace recess for free standing woodburner. We removed the rubble and laid a Brazilian slate hearth before rendered the inside with sand and cement. The entire chimney breast will need plastering when room is ready as property under a full refurbishment.

We found an original recess after removing the fire surround and old inset stove. Our customer didn’t want to keep the original opening and requested a move contemporary look, so we added a lintel and squared off the fireplace. We can supply oak mantels within lots of different finishes if required, which can be floated on the chimney breast above the recess.
We installed an Ecosy 5kw Panoramic woodburner, which is Defra and SIA Approved and comes with a 5 year warranty. This is a wide stove with a large screen to view the fire and excellent air wash system. This is personally one of my favourite stoves within this £500-£600 price range, well made and ticks all the boxes.
We use an Ecosy rear flue adaptor on this project to help bring the woodburner into the room. The adaptor allows the stove to be easily swept in the future. We suggest you sweep the chimney at least once a year if burning wood only or twice a year if burning coal.
