Fireplace Renovation, Knockout and Woodburner Installer in Burnham-on-Sea
This project involved excavating a chimney breast and enlarging the recess before installing a Ecosy Snug Woodburner in Burnham-on-Sea.
We always install a concrete lintel when enlarging a fireplace recess, before removing rubble and brickwork. We removed over 750Kg or brick and rubble and disposed at www.exmoorskips.co.uk as we’re certified waste carriers.
We installed a Brazillian slate hearth before rendering the inside of the recess with sand and cement and then adding the stainless steel beading to form a tidy edging to the recess. We also fitted a galvanised steel registration plate, sealing off the chimney from the room. We then installed the flexible flue liner and chimney cowl with a rain and bird guard as standard.
The final jobs were to bond the face of the chimney breast, followed by plastering to finish.

We installed an Ecosy Snug which is a 5kw multi fuel woodburner and is SIA approved. This is a great value, Defra approved stove, which we sell for about £575.
The customer can then paint the plaster and render with any emulsion paint once dry after a few days.
This job was almost completed within one day. I returned to plaster around the recess the following day.
