Fireplace Renovation and HETAS Woodburner Installation in Taunton
This project involved a renovation of a 1930’s fireplace and installation of woodburner in a property in Taunton, Somerset.
We initially knocked out and enlarged the small fireplace whilst installing a new lintel to support the chimney breast. We focused on the tiling once the Brazilian slate we supplied had been cut to size and installed. The customer supplied the blue tiles, which we tiled on to fireboard and grouted the following day. We bonded and plastered around recess then our customer painted to finish. We removed all rubble and left the room clean and tidy.

We installed a MI-Flues Tinderbox 5kW woodburner, which is both Defra and SIA approved. All stoves will need to be SIA compliant if sold in 2022. Therefore, we advise to check for the SIA mark of approval if purchasing a stove independently.
We also installed a oak effect concrete oak mantel, which looks attractive and convincingly real; but without the spliting or combustible fire risk of real oak.
We are based In Taunton and every woodburner installation we complete includes a chimney cowl, flexible liner and galvanised steel registration plate to seal off the chimney. On completion we submit your HETAS certification online and you receive the HETAS certificate within the post. We are fully insured through HETAS and Royal Sun Alliance PLC.
