This project invovle installing the customers own high output woodburning stove in an old farmhouse in Woolavington.
The Clarke Majestic 13.5kW woodburner is an excellent low cost solution for a large inglenook fireplace. You could easily spend 2 or 3 times as much for a premium branded stove with smiliar specifications.
The woodburner required an airvent through the wall as the output exceeds the 5kW maximum to avoid needing additional ventilation. The solution is to core a hole through the wall to provide the stove with sufficient air for combustion.
The customer wanted a high registration plate, so not to hide the original character of the inglenook. Hetas allow a maximum 2m of vitreous steel pipe, which can also serve to radiate more heat into the room.
We installed a cowl on the chimney pot which stops the rain and birds entering the flue.
