HETAS Woodburning Stove Installers in Street, near Glastonbury
We were asked to reinstall this woodburner in a property in Street, near Glastonbury.
We removed the woodburner and dated limestone hearth and replaced with new Brazilian slate hearth, which provides a smart and contemporary look. The concreate floating mantel isn’t combustible and therefore could be fitted as close as required.
There are some excellent larger concreate effect oak mantels available to avoid the strict specification from HETAS in regard to distance to combustibles from the woodburner. Many customers want the lintel across the top of the recess, which is why supply and install concreate lintels available in various colours and finishes.
This is a 5kw woodburner installed in a property built before 2008 and therefore doesn’t require any additional ventilation. If the property was built after 2008 then it would require 550mm square of air per each Kw.
We can also install brick slips around the recess if required to enhance the fireplace.
