This project involved knocking out and renovating a fireplace and installing a woodburner in Cannington near Bridgwater.
We initially installed a concreate lintel before excavating and enlarging the fireplace recess, followed by installation of the slate hearth. We had to use a large piece of 1200×900 Brazilian slate to cover the void in the laminate flooring left by the old patio slab hearth.
We then use stop bead to edge the front of the recess ready for rendering the inside of the recess and bonding and plastering around the face of the chimney breast.

We always install a galvanised steel registration plate to seal of the chimney from dust, but allowing access to inspect the liner.
We supplied and installed a popular Ecosy Panoramic woodburner, which is 5kw Defra approved and meets new SIA regulations. It’s a wood only woodburner with a large viewing screen, perfect for most situations. We can supply the full range of woodburners, including Clearview, Mendip Stoves, Charnwood, Esse, Stovax, Hunter, ACR to name a view.

We supplied and fitted a rear adaptor in order to bring the stove forwards out of the recess. Only a few stove manufactures supply their own adaptors, which are very useful as can be easily swept through.
On completion we submit a HETAS certificate which you will receive in the post within 30 days.
