Period Property Fireplace Renovation and Restoration in Wellington

Our client wanted us to modify their dilapidated period open fire and install their 9kw multi fuel woodburner. The period tiles and marble surround were protected and salvaged during the renovation and only the broken and unrepairable metal fire surround was removed before the fireplace was excavated and rendering inside the recess.

We shaped and cut a new Brazillian slate hearth to fit tightly and neatly around the marble surround. The  9kw Woodburner required a 6” liner and we installed a chimney cowl and bird guard.
